After having done it informally for years and after creating version 1.0 last year which was very useful for people, we are in the process of creating a second version of the mental health resources, with more details, structure and information. After compiling, we aim to make this resource list accessible to as many as possible so that those in need can get proper, timely, and relevant care and support.
The previous resource post and list went viral on different platforms, further identifying the need for more central resources in MHPSS for conflict zones like Kashmir. This revised 2.0 version is intended to support people in Kashmir, looking for professional resources in psychology, mental health and psychiatry. If you are from South-Asia and your professional skills are relevant to the needs of those in conflict zones in South-Asia, you are welcome to fill out the form!
After working on it for months and consulting practitioners and professionals, we have created a form that includes questions on intersectionality, politics, gender and other crucial aspects. In this regard, we are looking for trained and qualified mental health professionals who understand that an individual exists within a context, and are mindful of ethical, political and other intersectional contexts. If you are such a person, please fill out the form. We know there were many who had reached out to us in the past year in this regard. If we find your profile relevant, we'll get back to you as soon as possible, in case we need any clarification or additional details. Feel free to share this with relevant people. This is on a rolling basis!
Please note that filling out this form doesn't necessarily guarantee your space in the repository. We try to only add professionals who we think are best suited to people's needs in places like Kashmir. This form is fairly detailed and may take up to 20-30 minutes to fill properly. Thank you for your time and consideration!
